Fish
The fish of the fables live at the mercy of nets and appetites. The small one begs to be thrown back and grow — the fisherman prefers the meal he holds. The tuna, fleeing a bigger mouth, leaps into the boat. They are the many, the caught, the eaten. Their wisdom, when they have it, is the wisdom of the small.
