Swallow
The swallow is the prudent prophet among birds. She sees danger in the first seeds of mistletoe and hemp, and advises destroying them; no one listens. She builds close to men for safety, and is betrayed by their walls. One swallow, spent too soon, does not make a spring. She is wisdom heard too late.
