ENFRESDEIT
FableNº 262

The Asses Appealing to Zeus

One day the asses, worn out with always having burdens to carry and hardships to suffer, sent envoys to Zeus, to ask him to put an end to their labours. Zeus, wanting to show them that the thing was impossible, told them that they would be delivered from their misery when they had, by making water, formed a river. The asses took this reply seriously, and from that time to this day, when they see ass's urine somewhere, they stop all around it, they too, to make water.

We cannot alter our destiny.
