The Coward and the Crows

A cowardly man was setting off for war; but hearing crows caw, he laid down his weapons and stood still; then he picked them up and set off again. But when the crows cawed once more, he stopped, and at last he said to them, "You may croak as loudly as you like; but you shall not taste my flesh."

*Cowards are often boldest when no danger is near.
