FableNº 30

The Fox with the Swollen Belly

A hungry fox spotted some bread and meat that shepherds had left in the hollow of an oak. He crept in and ate it all; but his belly swelled so that he could not get out again, and he began to whimper and wail. Another fox, passing by, heard his complaints and came to ask what was wrong. When he learned what had happened, he said, "Well, stay there until you are back to the size you were when you went in, and then you'll get out easily enough."

Time, in the end, untangles our difficulties.
