A lion, who was plotting the death of a huge bull, planned to master him by cunning. He told him that he had sacrificed a sheep and invited him to the feast; his intention was to kill him when he was reclining at table. The bull came; but noticing plenty of basins, great spits, but of sheep nowhere, he went off without a word. The lion reproached him and asked why, having suffered no harm, he was leaving for no reason. He replied, "It is not without reason that I do so; for I see utensils such as are prepared not for a sheep, but for a bull."
