The Murderer

A man who had just committed a murder was being pursued by the relatives of his victim. Reaching the bank of the Nile, he met a wolf; in his fear he climbed a tree on the bank and hid there. But there he saw a serpent climbing towards him, so he let himself drop into the river; and in the river a crocodile devoured him.
