The Old Horse

An old horse was sold to turn a millstone. When he found himself harnessed to the mill, he groaned and cried out, "After the turns of the racecourse, to what turns am I now reduced!"

Do not be too proud of the strength that youth or fame gives you: for many people the time of old age has been spent in painful toil.
