FableNº 132

The Tunny and the Dolphin

A tunny pursued by a dolphin was fleeing with a great splash. It was about to be caught when the force of its own rush threw it, without its realising, onto the shore. Carried by the same momentum, the dolphin too was flung onto the same spot. The tunny, turning round, saw it breathing its last and said, "I no longer mind dying, now that I see dying with me the one who is the cause of my death."

We bear misfortunes easily when we see them shared by those who caused them.
