FableNº 303

The Two Bags

Long ago Prometheus, having fashioned people, hung two bags round their necks, one holding the faults of others, the other their own faults, and he placed the bag of others' faults in front, while he hung the other behind. The result is that people see the faults of others straight away, but do not notice their own.

Those blind to their own faults are often quickest to meddle in the affairs of others.
