Bear

The bear is strong but slow-witted. He boasts of loving mankind, yet his deeds say otherwise. In the fables he is easily fooled by smaller, quicker minds. He whispers his best advice only when danger has passed. Aesop uses him to test friendships: a true friend does not run when the bear appears.
