Cock
The cock is a small king with a loud voice. Two of them fight for the hens; the winner crows from the rooftop and is carried off by the eagle. Digging for food, one finds a jewel and honestly prefers a grain of barley. He announces the day, and his own doom, with the same confidence. He is pride at first light.
