FableNº 65

The Astronomer

An astronomer was in the habit of going out every evening to study the stars. One day, as he wandered the outskirts of town, absorbed in contemplating the sky, he fell by accident into a well. As he wailed and cried out, a passer-by heard his groans, came near, and, learning what had happened, said to him, "My friend, you want to see what is in the sky, and you don't see what is on the ground!"
