A ploughman, finding an eagle caught in a net, was so struck by its beauty that he freed it and gave it its liberty. The eagle did not prove ungrateful to its benefactor; seeing him sitting at the foot of a wall that threatened to collapse, it flew towards him and snatched off in its talons the band around his head. The man stood up and gave chase. The eagle let the band fall. The ploughman picked it up and, retracing his steps, found the wall fallen in on the spot where he had been sitting, and was amazed to be repaid in this way.
