FableNº 116

The Viper and the File

After slipping into a blacksmith's workshop, asked the tools for alms. After receiving something from the others, she came to the file and begged it to give her something. "You are naive," retorted the file, "to think you'll get anything from me: my habit is not to give, but to take from everyone."

It is foolish to expect any profit from misers.
