The Dog and the Hare

A hunting dog, having caught a hare, would now bite it, now lick its chops. The hare, worn out, said to it, "Hey, you, stop either biting me or kissing me, so that I may know whether you are my enemy or my friend."

*Those who mix affection with harm cannot be trusted as either friend or enemy.
