The Dog and the Butcher

A dog, having darted into a butcher's shop, seized a heart there while the butcher was busy, and took flight. The butcher, having turned round and seen it fleeing, cried out, "You there, know well that, wherever you are, I'll keep an eye on you: for it is not a heart you have taken from me; on the contrary, you have given me one."
