The Goat and the Vine

At the season when the vine puts out its shoots, a goat was nibbling its buds. The vine said to him, "Why are you damaging me? Is there no more green grass? Yet I shall supply, all the same, all the wine needed when they sacrifice you."

The ungrateful may harm the very friends on whom they depend.
