The Hyena and the Fox

They say that hyenas change their nature every year and become by turns male and female. Now a hyena, catching sight of a fox, reproached her for rebuffing it, when it wanted to become her friend. "It is not I you should blame," retorted the fox, "but your nature, which makes me uncertain whether I shall have in you a female friend or a male one."

*Those whose conduct constantly changes cannot be trusted.
