The Mole and Her Mother

A mole (the mole is a blind animal) told her mother that she could see. Her mother, to test her, gave her a grain of incense and asked her what it was: "It's a pebble," she said. "My child," replied the mother, "not only are you deprived of sight, but you have lost your sense of smell as well."
