Hermes
Hermes is the god sent down among mortals to see what they are worth. He tests them with axes of gold and silver, and rewards the one who claims only iron. He prices his own statue in a sculptor's shop and learns his market value: thrown in for free. He is the measurer of honesty, curiosity, and vanity — including his own.
