Fox
The fox is the mind of the fables. She talks her way out of traps and into other animals' dinners. She flatters the crow, mocks the mask, and calls the grapes sour when she cannot reach them. She reads dangers by their footprints, all going in and none coming out. Cunning is her weapon, and self-deception her one weakness.
