Dog

The dog lives between loyalty and appetite. He guards the house, yet steals from the kitchen when he can. He drops the real meat for its reflection in the river. Invited to a banquet, he is thrown out by the ears. He is man's companion and mirror: faithful, greedy, and easily deceived by appearances.
